Music is the science of arranging sounds in order to create a specific composition over the various components of harmony, melody, rhythm, and timbre. It is perhaps one of the most universal artistic aspects of all human cultures. Music can be found everywhere in the modern world. From the sounds of birds to the smooth movements of machines to the crackle of fire engines, music has an effect on our emotions and actions. Since the advent of new technologies, music has become an even more powerful and critical medium through which communication is carried out between individuals, groups, and even whole nations.
One of the first developments in music: came about through the development of music in the mainstream society. When European classical composers such as Michelangelo began to include music as a major form of art, music gradually took shape as the dominant medium of entertainment for Europeans. Music today has become a major force in the modern educational system. Most teachers in primary and secondary schools focus on providing students with musical competencies and the basic skills that will prepare them for the modern world.
Romanticism – the Romantic Period (or ‘Florentine Period’) – was a highly prolific period of artistic expression in Europe in the early 18th century. Inspired by the Greek idealist philosophies of a unified humanity and the spirit of freedom and equality, Romanticists sought to develop a more humanistic and tolerant society. During the Romantic Period, music became more theatrical as it was used to depict dramatic scenes and emotional expressions. The majority of Romanticists were involved in writing music and their works were commonly referred to as love songs. Romanticism is recognized today as a significant and influential period in the history of classical music.
Classical Music (also called Classicism): is the genre of music that developed in the Western Roman Empire after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Classical Music often focuses on the use of major and minor scales and employs a clear and often progressive conception, which makes the language of music much simpler and easier to understand than the Romantic Period music, which tends to be more impressionistic and disfiguring. The key composers of the Classical period were Leonardo da Vinci, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Salieri, igorijus Sadowsky, J. S. Bach and Johannes Brahms. Classical music often makes use of complex rhythmic patterns and its goal was to produce music that could be easily performed on the flute, piano, organ and guitar.
Popular Music (or Popular Music): was developed by a number of artists during a certain way during the late 1800s. Various groups of musicians from all over the world would band together and perform a set program, which included both solo and group music. Many people began to refer to this music as “Pop”. Popular Music is an essential part of American and European cultures. It can be described as the music that is most widely known by the public and most familiar to the listeners.
Today, there are many musicians: around the world who play the same instrument (or series of instruments), but also enjoy music of other genres. In recent years, a number of contemporary musicians have chosen to play classical music instead of popular music. This type of music usually has a slightly different sound.
