In the music industry, a record label is usually responsible for the distribution of albums by artists.
As you might expect, Empire Records is one of the most well-known labels in the world. The company was founded back in 1970 and now operates in over 20 countries around the globe.
A number of famous musicians have recorded for the label including Jay Z, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Rihanna and many others.
What’s interesting is that some of these artists aren’t signed to the company. This means that they don’t receive any money from their recordings, but they do get exposure through the use of songs.
You should also be aware that there are a lot of other companies that operate in the same way as Empire Records. Therefore, you shouldn’t assume that every artist is signed to the company.
The main difference between them all is the size of the business they run. Some of the smaller companies are only able to distribute records to certain parts of the world.
